IWC is an abbreviation of International Watch Company, and as you can see from the English company name, it is a watch maker founded in 1868 by American Florentine Ariosto Jones.

The company was created to combine the excellent craftsmanship of Switzerland with the modern engineering of the United States in the city of Schaffhausen on the German border.

The same Swiss watchmaker has a different philosophy from French-speaking companies such as Geneva and Vallée de Joux, which is also expressed in watches.

This Ref.810 is a round watch in the latter half of the 1960s, and is one of the vintage watches collectively called "Old Inter".

The case is made of 18K yellow gold and the size is 34mm, which is a little small.
The crown has a fish (coelacanth) mark, which is also a proof of a waterproof watch.

The structure of the case is not a screw back but a one-piece case, so it can be said that the waterproof performance is higher.

The hole mark is between the lugs on the 6 o'clock side of the case. , And is engraved on the inside of the case.

The dial is slightly glossy, with a shade between silver and ivory. I get the impression that it is close to Patek Philippe's Patek Philippe.

The color is exquisite, and it is good that there is no major deterioration or corrosion.

The index is a bar index with 4 thickened points, and the needle is a pencil hand with tritium luminescent paint applied to each. The

movement is equipped with a hand-wound Cal.89.

Albert Pellaton, who became IWC's director of design in 1944, is based on the idea of practicality and robustness, rationalization of design and productivity. Created numerous movements.

It is no exaggeration to say that he was the one who laid the foundation for today's IWC image, "simple and strong."

Cal.89 (caliber 89) is the greatest masterpiece of Pellaton and is called
"masterpiece among masterpieces". The movement was born in 1946 and is based on Cal.70.

The fact that it was also used in the military watch Mark XI (Mark 11) developed for the Royal Air Force shows its robustness.

Cal.89 was manufactured for about 30 years until the mid-1970s. You can see that it was so good that it didn't need a big update.

In addition, the "Pellaton type self-winding" movement mounted on yacht clubs was created based on this Cal.89.

This is a vintage-like beauty and practicality.
